The Topeka High- SM East winner will face the Lansing-SM North winner in a 6:30 p.m. semifinal on Friday.
Topeka West, 8-2 entering a Tuesday United Kansas Conference home game against Basehor-Linwood, will open its tournament bid at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against St. Thomas Aquinas (3-8).
Host Highland Park (3-7) will close out the first round at 8 p.m. Thursday against Wichita Northwest (5-6), with the Highland Park-Northwest winner advancing to an 8 p.m. semifinal on Friday to face the Topeka West-Aquinas winner.
The tournament will conclude on Saturday, starting with the seventh and fifth-place games at 10 a.m. in separate gyms, followed by the third-place game at 11:30 and the championship contest at 1 p.m.

Hayden boys to compete at Baldwin
Hayden, 4-8 on the season, will compete in the four-school Baldwin Invitational round-robin event this week, opening its tournament bid at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday against Wellsville (5-5).
The Wildcats will play Bishop Seabury (7-2) at 5:30 Friday and will wrap things up 2:30 p.m. Saturday against host Baldwin (9-2).

Rural boys headed to Pittsburg
Washburn Rural (7-3) will compete this week in the Bill Hanson Memorial Tournament at Pittsburg, opening with a 4 p.m. first-round game on Thursday against Branson, Mo. in Pittsburg's secondary gym.
Also on Rural's side of the tournament bracket are Olathe North and Willard, Mo., who will play at 7 p.m. Thursday.
On the other side of the bracket Webster Groves, Mo. will face Joplin, Mo. and host Pittsburg will take on Wichita West.
The Rural-Branson winner will play the Olathe North-Willard winner in a 4:30 p.m. semifinal on Friday.
The place games will be played on Saturday, capped by the championship game at 2:30 p.m.

T-Bird boys to compete in Viking Classic
Shawnee Heights, now 7-4, will open competition in the Shawnee Mission West Viking Classic with a 7:30 p.m. Thursday quarterfinal against Blue Valley North (4-4).
Shawnee Heights is coming off a 70-62 non-league road win at Gardner-Edgerton on Saturday.
The T-Birds trailed 35-33 at the half against the Trailblazers but took control with a 20-10 third quarter.
The Shawnee Heights-BV North winner will advance to a 7:30 semifinal on Friday to take on the first-round winner between Glendale, Mo. and Shawnee Mission West.
On the other side of the bracket Andover Central will play Louisburg in the first round and Raymore-Peculiar, Mo. will play Aurora, Mo.
The place games will be played on Saturday, with the title game set for 3 p.m.

Viking boys in McPherson Invitational field
Seaman, 8-1, will compete in this week's 62nd annual McPherson Invitational, kicking off its tournament bid with a 4:35 p.m. first-round game against Hutchinson (4-6).
The Seaman-Hutchinson winner will move on to an 6:10 p.m. semifinal on Friday to face the first-round winner between Derby (6-5) and Lawrence Free State (5-6).
On the other side of the bracket, St. James Academy (7-4) will play Bishop Carroll (6-5) in the first round and Blue Valley (6-3) will host McPherson (6-5).
The championship game is set for 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

Bulldawgs boys to vie for Valley Falls title
Rossville's boys, 5-5, will compete this week in the Valley Falls Invitational, tipping off their tournament bid with a 6 p.m. Tuesday game against Jefferson County West.
The Bulldawgs will also play tournament games on Thursday and Saturday.
Complete tournament pairings are not available at this time.
Rossville girls at Jefferson County North
Rossville's girls will be one of the first Shawnee County teams to kick off its midseason tournament bid, facing host Jefferson County North at 6 p.m. Monday in the opening round of the Jefferson County North Invitational.
The Rossville-JCN first-round winner will advance to a 6 p.m. semifinal on Wednesday to take on the winner of the first-round game between Perry-Lecompton and Atchison County.
On the other side of the bracket Atchison will face Valley Falls in the first round and Oskaloosa will take on Northeast Kansas.
The tournament championship game will be played at 8 p.m. Friday night.

The Silver Lake boys and girls teams will both compete in the Burlington Invitational, which will run Tuesday through Saturday.
Silver Lake's boys (8-2) will face Paola (6-4) at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Burlington Middle School while the Lady Eagles (10-0) will face face Paola (0-10) in a 3:30 first-round game at the middle school.
The Silver Lake-Paola boys winner will play a Friday semifinal at 8:15 p.m. against the winner of the Girard-Sabetha game while the Silver Lake-Paola girls winner will play a 3:30 semifinal against the Ottawa-Girard first-round winner.
The girls title game will be played Saturday at 3:10 p.m., followed by the boys championship at 4:45.

Cair Paravel Latin's boys and girls basketball teams will compete in this week's Flint Hills League Tournament at storied White Auditorium in Emporia.
The Cair Paravel boys (8-2) will take on West Franklin (1-9) in a 6 p.m. Monday quarterfinal while the Lion girls (4-6) will play a 4:30 p.m. quarterfinal on Tuesday against Mission Valley (7-4).
The CPLS girls will play their second tournament game on Wednesday while the Lion boys will play a game on Friday before both CPLS teams will play place games on Saturday.
