Broxterman captured his second straight Class 6A state wrestling title in his third straight state final Saturday night at Hartman Arena in Park City. Broxterman capped a 49-1 junior season with a 15-0 technical fall over Maize freshman Vincent Rosas in the 132-pound championship match, ending the match with 1:33 left in the second period after building a 13-0 lead in the opening period.

BRODY BYRNE, Washburn Rural

A senior 157-pounder, Byrne ended his high school wrestling career with his first Class 6A state championship Saturday night at Hartman Arena in Park City. After finishing fourth as a junior, Byrne scored late in the championship match to take a 6-4 decision over Olathe East junior Ender Rider. Byrne finished his season with a 36-3 record, helping Rural finish third as a team in 6A.

RYKAN CARVER, Shawnee Heights

Carver, a senior, ended his high school wrestling career with the Class 5A 285-pound state championship, the first state medal of Carver's prep career. Saturday's title match at Hartman Arena in Park City went to overtime before Carver took a 4-3 decision over St. Thomas Aquinas sophomore Stephen Carroll. With his win in the final, Carver finished his season with a 38-8 record.

HAILEY HORTON, Rossville

A senior 155-pounder, Horton captured her first Class 4A-1A state wrestling championship Saturday night at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina, helping lead Rossville to the first state wrestling team title in school history by .5 of a point over Oakley. Horton, who finished third at state as a junior, earned her individual title with a 4-3 decision over Oakley sophomore Cali Waggoner.

KENDRA HURLA, Rossville

Hurla, a 120-pound senior, became one of only three girls wrestlers in Kansas history to win four straight state wrestling championships since girls wrestling became an official Kansas State High School Activities Association sport in 2020. Hurla earned title No. 4 with a last-second pin over Mulvane junior Leiannah Landreth in the final, helping Rossville win the Class 4A-1A team title by a 82.5-82.0 margin over Oakley.

 KRISTJAN MARSHALL, Washburn Rural

A junior 150-pounder, Marshall won his first Class 6A state wrestling championship Saturday at Hartman Arena in Park City after finishing fourth in 6A as a sophomore. Marshall and Mill Valley senior Brady Mason went to overtime in the title match before Marshall took a 10-8 decision. Marshall finished his season with a 39-4 record while helping the Junior Blues finish third as a team.
