The No. 18-ranked Washburn University golf team opens postseason play in the MIAA Championship Monday and Tuesday at the Shangri-La Country Club in Monkey Island, Okla.

Competitors will play 27 holes on Monday, beginning at 8:30 a.m., and finish the remaining 27 holes Tuesday (8:30 a.m. start).

Five participants from each of the 10 conference teams will play in the event, with a five-person all-tournament team to be named at the end of the tournament.

Washburn is coming off a fifth-place finish out of 20 teams in the Northeastern State University Classic last week, shooting 6-over-par for three rounds.

Ichabod senior Andrew Beckler, a former Washburn Rural state champ, tied for third out of 116 paricipants last week with a 4-under-par total of 209 and is currently ranked No 14 in the GolfStat individual national rankings.

Beckler is currently first on Washburn's career list for best scoring averge, averaging 71.95 over 58 rounds.

Jackson Wexler tied for ninth in the NSU Classic while Griffin Mott placed 38th and Dawson Wills 44th.
