Coming off a 14-point loss to Silver Lake in the War on 24 last week, Rossville bounced back with a 21-0 non-league road shutout at perennial state power Holton Friday night.

The Bulldawgs, who evened their record at 3-3, scored the only touchdown they would need at the 5:57 mark of the first quarter, with senior quarterback Camden Horak connecting with sophomore Jack Donavan for an 8-yard score.

Rossville stretched its lead to 14-0 at the half, with the Bulldawgs scoring at the 11:25 mark of the second quarter on a 1-yard run by C. Horak.

The Bulldawgs finished their scoring with 54 seconds left in the third quarter, getting a 37-yard run from junior Tayson Horak.

Paxton Willett went three for three on extra-point kicks for the Bulldawgs.

Rossville will return to Class 2A District 3 play next Friday night, hosting Pleasant Ridge.

HAYDEN 49, ROYAL VALLEY 0 -- Hayden improved to 6-0 and 3-0 in Class 3A District 4 play with a 49-0 road win at Royal Valley Friday night.

Hayden, which has not had a game closer than 26 points, opened up a 14-0 first-quarter lead over the Panthers and took a commanding 35-0 advantage to the locker room at halftime.

The Wildcats will be back at home next Friday for a key district battle with Holton.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN 34, MADISON 12 -- Cair Paravel Latin picked up its second straight Eight-Man Division I District 2 victory Friday night, taking a 34-12 decision over Madison.

Lion junior quarterback Jase Pavlik rushed for 109 yards on just six carries and completed 21 of 30 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns as CPLS improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in district play.

Senior Jesiah Bonura caught six passes for 125 yards while Evan Will had eight grabs for 63 yards and Simon Everhart four catches for 70 yards.

Ian Brian had nine tackles for the Lions with six assists. 

Cair Paravel will play a Senior Night game against Chase County next Friday night at Highland Park.

SHAWNEE HEIGHTS 12, WAMEGO 7 -- Shawnee Heights ended a brief two-game losing streak with a hard-earned 12-7 non-league win over Wamego at Wetter Field Friday night.

The T-Birds, who improved to 4-2, trailed Wamego, last season's Class 4A state runnerup, by a 7-6 margin for much of the night in the defensive battle before coming through with the game-winning touchdown.

Shawnee Heights will be at home next Friday for a United Kansas Conference contest against Topeka West.

SILVER LAKE 54, PLEASANT RIDGE 0 -- Logan Pegram's Eagles continued their outstanding season Friday night, improving to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Class 2A District 3 play with a 49-0 Homecoming romp past Pleasant Ridge.

Silver Lake's lone loss came against undefeated 3A power Hayden.

The Eagles took control early, with senior Tanner Martin connecting with juniors Trent Rollenhagen and Logan Cathcart for touchdown passes and sophomore Dayne Johnson returning a pass interception for a TD.

Silver Lake will go on the road next Friday for a district contest at Maur Hill-Mt. Academy.
