First-team repeat selections Tadd Armstrong of Washburn Rural, Jack Donovan of Rossville and Hayden's James Kuta and Tagen Rodriguez headline the 2025 All-Shawnee County boys golf team. 

Seniors Armstrong and Kuta finished one-two in the city tournament, with Armstrong winning the title in a playoff, while Kuta and Rodriguez, a junior, both posted top-10 finishes in the Class 4A state tournament as Hayden finished second as a team and Donovan was a regional champion as a junior and earned a sixth-place tie in 2A-1A, his second straight state medal

Washburn Rural, which won its 15th straight city team championship, is also represented on the All-Shawnee County team by senior Tagan Monasmith and junior Higgins Hawks while Hayden also put junior Mateo Garcia on the first team.

All-Shawnee County capsules:

TADD ARMSTRONG, Washburn Rural -- A senior first-team repeat pick, Armstrong won the city individual title in a playoff after carding a 27-hole score of 118 to help lead Washburn Rural to its 15th straight city team title. Armstrong tied for second in the Centennial League (72) and tied for seventh at regionals (79) as Rural qualified as a team for the Class 6A state tournament.

JACK DONOVAN, Rossville -- A junior, Donovan is a first-team All-Shawnee County pick for the second straight season after earning a state medal for the second straight year with a tie for sixth in the Class 2A-1A state event with a 36 hole score of 155 (76-79). Donovan was a 2A-1A regional medalist, shooting a Rossville school-record 68 to win the individual title by 12 strokes.

MATEO GARCIA, Hayden -- A junior foreign exchange student, Garcia helped the Wildcats post a second-place team finish in Class 4A, just three strokes behind team champion Wamego. Garcia finished 11th in the city tournament with a 27-hole score of 128 as Hayden finished second in the team race, one stroke behind Washburn Rural. Garcia tied for eighth in 4A regional competition with a 79.

HIGGINS HAWKS, Washburn Rural -- Hawks, a junior, earned his first All-Shawnee County berth for the Junior Blues. Hawks tied for fifth in the city tournament with a 27-hole score of 124 as Rural won its 15th straight city championship. Hawks shot an 80 at regionals to tie for 10th as the Junior Blues earned a Class 6A team berth and tied for 36th at state with a 36-hole score of 156 (75-81).

JAMES KUTA, Hayden -- A senior All-Shawnee County repeat selection, Kuta tied for fourth in the Class 4A state tournament with a 36-hole score of 152 (77-75), helping Hayden finish second as a team while earning his second straight state medal. Kuta tied for first in the city tournament with a 27-hole score of 118 before losing in a playoff and tied for eighth in the Centennial League meet (75) and tied for third at regionals (75).

TAGAN MONASMITH, Washburn Rural -- Monasmith, a senior, moves up to the All-Shawnee County first team this spring after being a second-team pick as a junior. Monasmith tied for fifth in the city tournament with a 27-hole score of 124 as Rural won its 15th straight title and he tied for eighth in the Centennial League (75), tied for fourth in Class 6A regional competition (77) and tied for 34th at state with a 155 (78-77).

TAGEN RODRIGUEZ, Hayden -- A senior All-Shawnee County repeat pick, Rodriguez finifhed ninth in the Class 4A state tournament with a 36-hole score of 156 (81-75) as the Wildcats finished second as a team. Rodriguez took third in the city meet (120 for 27 holes) as the Wildcats finished second as a team, just one stroke behind Washburn Rural. Rodriguez tied for second in the Centennial League (72) and tied for ninth at regionals (80).
