Silver Lake put on a power display Thursday against Perry-Lecompton, with five Eagles combining for six home runs in a 12-0, 15-0 doubleheader sweep over the Kaws.

The Eagles got homers from senior Lauren Rollenhagen, sophomore Kaibryn Kruger and sophomore Makenzie McDaniel in Silver Lake's 12-0 first-game win while freshman Taylor Zordel, sophomore Hailey Horton and McDaniel added round-trippers in the Eagles' 15-0 win in the nightcap.

Silver Lake, the Class 3A state runner-up last season, took control of the first game with four runs in the first inning and the Eagles added four runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth to end the game by way of the 10-run spread rule.

Rollenhagen knocked in four runs while McDaniel had three RBI and senior Taryn Burkhardt had three hits.

Sophomore Avery Wende pitched a four-hitter for the Eagles while recording 10 strikeouts.

Silver Lake put the second game away with seven runs in the first inning and added a run in the second, four runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to end the game via the 15-run spread.

Zordel had four RBI and Horton knocked in three runs.

Zordel had three hits while Burkhardt, McDaniel and freshman Kira Lowrey had two hits apiece.

Silver Lake freshman pitcher Kendra Cook allowed just one hit while striking out seven.
