ATCHISON (5-0, 4-0 Meadowlark Conferance) vs. HIGHLAND PARK (4-1, 4-0 Meadowlark Conference)

At Hummer Sports Park

Atchison, the defending Meadowlark Conference champion, enters Thursday night's game tied for the conference lead with Highland Park. Atchison is coming off a 63-18 Meadowlark win over Kansas City-Washington while Highland Park dropped a 57-6 non-league decision at Kansas City, Mo.-Lincoln Prep last Friday. HIghland Park junior quarterback Craig Sipple has thrown for more than 500 yards while senior Amari Taylor is the Scots' leading rusher.

TOPEKA HIGH (1-4, 1-1 Centennial League) at WASHBURN RURAL (5-0, 2-0 Centennial League)

Topeka High dropped a 70-7 non-league decision to Wichita Northwest last Friday while Washburn Rural remained unbeaten with a 28-7 Centennial League road win at Junction City. Rural scored three of its four touchdowns on defense/special teams as seniors Jaren and JC Heim had big nights for the Junior Blues. Sophomore Malichi Murph scored Topeka High's lone TD against Wichita Northwest on a fumble return. Washburn Rural can clinch a share of the Centennial League title with a win.

KC-TURNER (0-5, 0-4 United Kansas Conference) vs. TOPEKA WEST (0-5, 0-5 United Kansas Conference)

At Hummer Sports Park

Both the Bears and Chargers will be looking for their first victories of the season. Turner is coming off a 56-7 United Kansas Conference loss to Piper while Topeka West dropped an 84-14 non-conference decision to Lansing last Thursday. Senior Josh Nitschke rushed for 174 yards and scored both of Topeka West's touchdowns against Lansing, on 72 and 91-yard runs. Topeka West notched its lone win of the 2022 season over Turner, with the Chargers taking a 26-21 decision. 

LEAVENWORTH (2-3, 2-3 United Kansas Conference) at SEAMAN (2-3, 2-2 United Kansas Conference)

Seaman returns to United Kansas Conference competition after taking a a trip to Jefferson City, Mo. last week, with the Vikings dropping a 63-28 non-league decision to Blair Oaka. The Vikings will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak Friday night while Leavenworth is coming off a 44-14 UKC loss to Basehor-Linwood. Seaman junior quarterback Max Huston has completed 90 of 149 passes for 1,365 yards and 20 touchdowns and carried the ball 63 times for 311 yards and three TDs. Senior Jack Bloom has 307 rushing yards and five TDs on 70 attempts while senior Callen Barta has caught 29 passes for 588 yards and nine touchdowns and senior Holden Finley 23 receptions for 325 yards and six scores. 

WAMEGO (4-1) at SHAWNEE HEIGHTS (3-2)

Shawnee Heights will host Wamego, last season's Class 4A state runnerup, in a non-league contest. Shawnee Heights is coming off a 41-18 UKC loss to perennial power De Soto last Friday while Wamego beat Coffeyville 49-14 for its fourth straight win. T-Bird senior Allen Baughman has rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns on 78 carries despite missing time with an injury while senior quarterback Ryeki Tuley has completed 82 of 134 passes for 1,068 yards and eight TDs. Senior Jayden Moore has 33 receptions for 414 yards and two TDs, senior Jacob Malcom 20 catches for 298 yards and three TDs and senior Jayden Holly 23 catches for 226 yards and two scores. Senior Tucker Busenitz has 34 tackles for Heights while senior Alex Dawkins has 33.5 stops with eight tackles for loss.

HAYDEN (5-0, 2-0 Class 3A District 4) at ROYAL VALLEY (1-4, 0-1)

Hayden stayed unbeaten with a 27-0 district win over Perry-Lecompton last Friday while Royal Valley dropped a 34-9 district decision to Holton. Hayden senior Finn Dunshee has rushed for 657 yards on 31 carries and scored 13 total touchdowns, but Dunshee left the Perry-Lecompton game with an injury. Junior Broderick Desch has 194 rushing yards on 36 attempts. Wildcat junior quarterback Jett Wahlmeier has completed 31 of 75 pass attempts for 639 yards and six touchdowns while junior Jensen Schrickel has caught 14 passes for 265 yards and four TDs.

PLEASANT RIDGE (2-3, 1-1 Class 2A District 3) at SILVER LAKE (4-1, 1-0 Class 2A District 3)

Silver Lake is coming off a 42-28 district road win over rival Rossville last Friday while Pleasant Ridge dropped a 30-8 district decision to Atchison County. Silver Lake senior quarterback Tanner Martin had a hand in five touchdowns in the Eagles' win over Rossville, rushing for 157 yards and three touchdowns on 20 attempts and throwing for 134 yards and two TDs. Eagle senior Blake Redmond carried the ball 12 times for 155 yards and scored two touchdowns, on a 28-yard pass reception and a 53-yard run.

ROSSVILLE (2-3) at HOLTON (3-2)

Rossville will travel to Holton for a non-league game between traditional state powers. The Bulldawgs are coming off a 42-28 Class 2A district loss to rival Silver Lake while Holton took a 34-9 district win over Royal Valley. Rossville senior quarterback Camden Horak has completed 75 of 124 passes for 1,098 yards and 10 touchdowns and is also the Bulldawgs' leading rusher with 257 yards and six TDs on 75 attempts. Junior Tayson Horak has caught 22 passes for 342 yards and three TDs.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN (3-2, 1-1 Eight-Man-I District 2) at MADISON (4-1, 1-1 Eight-Man-I District 2)

Cair Paravel is coming off a 62-28 district victory over previously-unbeaten Burlingame while Madision dropped a 66-16 district decision to Lyndon. Cair Paravel junior quarterback Jase Pavlik completed 19 of 26 passes for 273 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 71 yards and two TDs on six attempts. Senior Jesiah Bonura rushed for 127 yards and two TDs and caught six passes for 111 yards and two scores against Burlingame.
