LIBERAL (2-0) vs. TOPEKA HIGH (0-2)

At Hummer Sports Park

Topeka High is coming off a 55-19 loss to reigning Class 6A state champion Manhattan in the Trojans' Centennial League opener last Thursday while Liberal improved to 2-0 with a 47-14 win over Emporia. Topeka High scored its first touchdowns of the season in the Manhattan loss, with Isaiah Kincade catching a 70-yard TD pass from Zane Smith, Malachi Murph scoring on a 99-yard pick-six and Jayden Norman catching a 26-yard TD pass from CJ Ross.

SEAMAN (2-0, 2-0) at SHAWNEE HEIGHTS (2-0, 2-0) 

Seaman posted its second straight lopsided United Kansas Conference decision last Friday, a 59-6 home win over Kansas City-Turner, while Shawnee Heights improved to 2-0 with a 26-25 UKC win at Lansing. Seaman junior quarterback Max Huston threw for seven touchdowns in the Vikings' win over Turner and now has 12 TD passes on the year, while Shawnee Heights senior quarterback Ryeki Tuley threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns on a 24 of 37 performance and also ran for a TD in the T-Birds' win over Lansing.

HAYDEN (2-0) at ROSSVILLE (1-1)

Hayden rolled to a 56-7 home win over traditional state power Silver Lake last Friday while Rossville dropped a 26-20 decision to Riley County, with the Falcons scoring the game-winning touchdown with three and a half minutes left at Rossville. Hayden senior Finn Dunshee rushed for 154 yards and three TDs on just eight carries against Silver Lake, scoring on runs of 7, 56 and 29 yards, while senior Jude Konrade scored a defensive touchdown on a 24-yard fumble return. Rossville rallied from a 12-0 deficit to knot the game at 20 before Riley County pulled out the win. 

DE SOTO (1-1, 1-0) vs. TOPEKA WEST (0-2, 0-2)

At Hummer Sports Park

Topeka West fell to 0-2 overall and in the United Kansas Conference with a 48-6 loss at Leavenworth while De Soto is coming off a 28-14 non-conference loss at Washburn Rural. West has been outscored by a 124-12 margin over its first two games while De Soto opened its season with a 42-21 UKC win over Lansing before last week's loss to 2-0 Washburn Rural.

WASHBURN RURAL (2-0) at PIPER (1-1)

Washburn Rural improved to 2-0 with a 28-14 non-conference win over De Soto last Friday while Piper improved to 1-1 with a 34-31 United Kansas Conference victory over Basehor-Linwood. Rural opened up a 21-7 advantage at the half over De Soto while taking advantage of two De Soto turnovers. De Soto cut its deficit to 21-14 early in the fourth before Rural added an insurance TD. Junior Lafayette Thompson scored a pair of touchdowns for the Junior Blues while sophomore TJ Minikwu and senior JC Heim also scored TDs for Washburn Rural. Junior Wilson Miller had a pass interception that set up Minikwu's TD that put the Junior Blues ahead to stay.

SILVER LAKE (1-1, 1-0) at ST, MARYS (0-2, 0-2)

Silver Lake will be looking to bounce back from last Friday's 56-7 non-league loss to Hayden while St. Marys is coming off a 32-6 loss to Rock Creek. Senior Blake Redmond scored the Eagles' lone TD against Hayden on a 79-yard pass from senior Tanner Martin. Silver Lake will be looking to stay unbeaten in Mid-East League play Friday night.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN (1-1) at MARAIS DES CYGNES VALLEY (0-2)

Cair Paravel Latin picked up its first win of the season Friday night and it only took a half, with the Lions rolling to a 60-12 rout over Doniphan West in a game played at Highland Park.The game ended at halftime as a result of the 45-point spread rule. Marais des Cygnes Valley is 0-2 after a 58-6 loss to Madison/Hamilton last week and MdCV has been outscored 107-6 over its first two games. Friday's kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.

HIGHLAND PARK (2-0, 2-0) at KANSAS CITY-SUMNER ACADEMY (0-2, 0-2)

Highland Park improved to 2-0 with a 32-26 Meadowlark Conference victory over Kansas City-Schlagle last Friday while Sumner is coming off a 63-6 Meadowlark loss to reigning conference champion Atchison. Scot junior Jamon Wilson rushed for 104 yards on just seven carries and also had three pass receptions for 127 yards. Wilson scored touchdowns on 10 and 54-yard runs and also caught a 75-yard TD pass from Craig Sipple.
